VENDETTA IN DEATH Synopsis

She calls herself Lady Justice. And once she has chosen a man as her target, she turns herself into a tall blonde or a curvaceous redhead, makes herself as alluring and seductive as possible to them. Once they are in her grasp, they are powerless.

The first victim is wealthy businessman Nigel McEnroy. His company’s human resources department has already paid out settlements to a couple of his young victims—but they don’t know that his crimes go far beyond workplace harassment. Lady Justice knows. And in one shocking night of brutality, she makes him pay a much steeper price.

Now Eve Dallas and her husband, Roarke, are combing through the evidence of McEnroy’s secret life. His compulsive need to record his misdeeds provides them with a wide range of suspects, but the true identity of Lady Justice remains elusive. It’s a challenging case, made even more difficult by McEnroy’s widow, who reacts to the investigation with fury, denial, and threats. Meanwhile, Lady Justice’s criminal crusade is escalating rapidly, and if Eve can’t stop this vigilante, there’s no telling how much blood may be spilled…

VENDETTA IN DEATH Reviews

If you’ve read the 48 books before this one, you’re probably heavily invested in the characters. Perhaps you’ll be satisfied with the novel.

I haven’t read the whole series and I wasn’t satisfied with this book. I’ve read a couple of other entries in the series and was never overly impressed but this one? This one had basically no plot.

{Spoiler Alert} Eve Dallas, the main character, decides that her gut knows best and so she solves the case. She’s granted a warrant based on limited circumstantial evidence and “her gut” and everything ends up fine.

To make matters even more boring, if you haven’t read a solid portion of the prior novels, you probably won’t understand the characters. Random characters from prior novels show up without explanation and it’s expected the reader will know who they are.

If you’ve haven’t read at least a dozen of the series (heavily focused on the most recent ones), skip this. There are WAY better things you could be reading.

But that’s just my opinion. What do others think?

…there isn’t anything particularly special about this entry in the series.

…a solidly good–but not top–entry into the series.

Errant Dreams

What a load of crap.
